What you can expect from Susan Wicklund Fund.

We encourage you to make an appointment for your procedure, then fill out a Susan Wicklund Fund application for financial support. But if you’re feeling overwhelmed or have questions, reach out to us. We can help you through the process of making an appointment with a trusted provider and/or filling out our application. It’s important to note that Susan Wicklund Fund won’t pay you directly—we pay the clinic up front for your procedure.

We’re about much more than financial aid, though. When you talk to one of our volunteers, you’re connecting with a compassionate, knowledgeable person who’s dedicated to helping you get the care you need. We’re here to answer any questions you might have, and we’ll have some questions for you too, so we can get to know you better and understand your situation. Plus, that same SWF volunteer will be available for you—throughout the process, start to finish—to make sure you get all the information and support you need.

Whether you’re having a medical or surgical procedure, the provider at the health center should talk with you about your options and answer your questions. You’ll also need to fill out paperwork and have some basic tests done, such as an ultrasound to determine how far along you are in your pregnancy. Along with providing information about how to take care of yourself after the procedure, the nurse or doctor should go over which contraception (birth control) options might work best for you.

Most important, you should feel listened to and cared for throughout your experience. Susan Wicklund Fund works with trusted health centers only—because we want to make sure you receive the same level of care we’d want for ourselves and for our friends and family. That’s the difference Dr. Susan Wicklund made in the lives of her patients, and it’s the difference we want to continue to make in her name.
